The Job Training is open to those who have been diagnosed with Asperger’s and/or other developmental challenges. Participants must be at least 16 years of age.
Job training program will be conducted in weekly 60 minutes for individual sessions and 90 minutes for group sessions. Groups will maximum 4 applicants. The whole program is 5 modules. The participant will be able to enroll either whole program or any module that they would need support based on initial consultation.
This training offers participants the opportunity to develop soft skills necessary for employment. The program will focus on enhancing social skills and self-control skills. In addition, the program will teach skills related to completing job applications, preparing for interviews, punctuality, how to get along with coworkers, how to follow work rules and directions, and how to prioritize tasks at work.
Each participant will receive an individually tailored program that focuses on his or her interests and skills. The training will be accomplished through but is not limited to: role-playing, video modeling, relaxation, positive imagery, and computer assisted interactive video programs. Participants will also receive assistance with resume writing, job leads, and will gain knowledge and skills about how to navigate the interview process.
